Amy Elizabeth Stewart and Beverly Godbey Selected to ‘2020 Best Lawyers in America’

Amy Stewart Law Managing Principal Amy Elizabeth Stewart and Principal Beverly Godbey have been selected by The Best Lawyers in America© for inclusion in its annual list of outstanding lawyers published by BL Rankings, LLC. Amy was recognized for her work in insurance law, while Beverly was selected for both insurance law and commercial litigation. The 2020 list marks Amy's eighth and Beverly's fifth consecutive year to be selected for the honor.

Being selected to the 2020 list is momentous for Amy, having celebrated ten years since opening the doors of Amy Stewart Law. Amy also continues to author “Texas Insurance Coverage Litigation: The Litigator's Practice Guide,” which is published with annual updates by Texas Lawyer Books and American Lawyer Media. Recent editions include an expanded section on commercial general liability policies, as well as a section on the rapidly evolving area of cyber insurance.

In addition, the recognition comes on the heels of another professional milestone for Beverly, who was recently named a fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel, which honors the foremost practitioners of the insurance bar. This recognition was similarly bestowed upon Amy, who was inducted in 2013.

For more than 30 years, Best Lawyers has followed the same methodology for nominating and selecting its honorees. The five-step process begins with nominations (self-nominations are not permitted), followed by peer review, research, and a confirmation of eligibility. Because final results are reflective of the peer review process, lawyers are neither required nor allowed to pay a fee to be listed.
