By Amy Stewart Law

On May 22, 2014 Amy Stewart PC is excited to announce that the firm recently received certification as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), founded in 1997, is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. WBENC, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit, partners with 14 Regional Partner Organizations to provide its world-class standard of certification to women-owned businesses throughout the country. The WBENC certification for women-owned businesses is one of the most widely-recognized and respected certifications in the nation and is accepted by over 700 major corporations across the country, along with a number of federal and government agencies. Companies seeking WBE certification by WBENC must be demonstrably 51% owned, controlled and operated by a woman or women. The organization not only reviews a company’s lengthy application, but also conducts a site visit. WBENC is a powerful advocate for WBEs as suppliers to corporate America.
